TPC Data Systems Presents -- Syslets Small system utilities

Windows Vista and Windows 7 featured "gadgets" that were small active desktop programs. Some of these had very useful features.

Gadgets were discontinued in Windows 8.

Syslets are stand-alone programs that run on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.

• They are small borderless windows forms that may be moved anywhere on the desktop.
• You can configure their font, font color and background form color.
• The form can be made transparent so only the font is visible.

Net-Monitor	A network monitor that ping's servers and displays the ping response time and server status in LED light.		The monitor is controlled by a config file. Download a sample config file and place the file in the same directory as Net-Monitor.exe. Colors default to UpColor=Green and DownColor=Red. Allowed colors are Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Magenta and Gray.

TPC-Weather	Weather at TPC Data Systems in Sequim, WA
Weather	Displays the weather from selected cities in the US using the National Weather Service.		Weather is controled by a config file. Download a sample config file and place the file in the same directory as Weather.exe. You will need the city name, city zip and the NOAA Weather Service Station ID. The station ID can be looked up at http://w1.weather.gov/xml/current_obs
WhoAmI	Computer Name, User Name, Optional (Domain Name and/or IP Address).		Helps you know which computer you're on when you contorl many different computers from one keyboard/monitor.
Advanced Syslets	Advanced Syslets are more complex and requires additional software to be installed on the PC.

Install Directions:

• They require the .NET 4.5 framework to be installed on the windows computer.
• Download the syslet file using the above links.
• Move the file to a convenient directory.
• Run the file.
• Hover the mouse over the first field in the syslet display. The syslet should highlight. Note that if the background is transparent, then the mouse cursor must hover directly over one of the visible characters.
• Move the syslet by draging it with the mouse.
• Right-Click to configure.
